I think my daughter may have a hotline number to the big Man upstairs. How about this for a story? All true.
A month or so ago, she boldly decided she would ask God for a free car. (Goodness, what a cheek!) She began praying a novena (prayer over 9 days). Six days in, and voila, she was gifted with a car by family friends of ours. And not only that, her sister, too, was given a free car by the same generous family. Honestly, I am speechless!
Last week my husband and I thought we would take a leaf out of our daughter’s book. His well-loved (falling to pieces) bike, was on its last days and well down on priority list for replacement during these financially strained days. We decided to ask God for a new one.
Day 39 and I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised, but out of the blue, I got a call from a friend wondering if we would like a bike, or maybe three!? Now, my husband is a big man and the chances of finding a bike to fit him are not great. But the bike is a perfect size and in beautiful condition.
Along the same lines, in our letter box on Easter Sunday, we received a card in an envelope. It read ‘Dear Steve and Annie, Happy Easter! Enjoy!” No name, but $100.00 enclosed.
I am honestly blown away by people’s generosity especially during these difficult days. I have often heard the quote, “God will not be outdone in generosity”, and now, more than ever, I am comprehending its meaning. Thank you God, thank you people.
