Beauty 365 … Stories of Love and Life for Everyday

Lock-down journey Day 44…When nothing is stirring.

My husband and I have fallen into a new routine and it has been transformative.

As the sounds of traffic and birds are beginning, and before anyone else in the house has arisen, we get up and spend the first hour of our day in prayer.

Fuelled with coffee, we simply sit in silence together in our lounge room by the light of a candle, and we know that God is with us.

Prayer has come to me pretty easily to me these lock-down days. The virus and all its fallout have certainly given me plenty of reasons to speak with God. I pray for all those suffering in the world, for a cure, for protection for my family and friends. I also pray for inspiration to write this blog, and I pray for all those who read it, so that means you, dear reader. But mostly I just try to sit in His presence, begging Him to transform me into His instrument of love in the world. Then try to listen to what He says.

When I recall what I used to get done in that first hour of the day, my mind boggles.

With the end of lock-down looming (incredible that before I was longing for it, now it looms threateningly!), I am savouring these beautiful morning moments, aware that they have been a precious gift to sustain us during these trying times.
