Day 6 saw our family take a sea change, literally, to our beloved Phillip Island holiday home. I have been coming down here since I was a child, so a significant place for me, and here, we will continue our lock-down days.
An afternoon walk along the beach was definitely the highlight of the day; arms linked with my sixteen year old son, him towering over me now, chatting easily (wasn't he a baby just yesterday?!) A sensitive boy, he invited me to share my worries, and he shared his; no solutions, just listening. And then his strength, gently pulling me up the old wooden stairs from the beach...oh, so sweet!
The day before, at breakfast, he had surprised and amused me. "Mum and Dad, this virus thing is starting to get really out of control now...the footy season is in jeopardy!!" So lovely to see life through the eyes of our children and remember that their lives are being turned upside down too.
Our precious eldest daughter is in mind. Scott Morrison announced yesterday that wedding ceremonies may take place but with a maximum of five people in attendance, including the bride groom and celebrant. Thick clouds are hanging over our plans for her wedding in July. And once again, I can only trust that God who is the master, has everything in His hands.
