Lockdown Day 5......"Lights, camera, action...!"

Okay, for those of you who have been following my lock-down journey each day, and in particular, yesterday, I want to address something pretty quickly. "Mum, I'm coming down with a temperature!", were the words whispered through the telephone by my young adult son last thing on Day 4. As you can imagine, we are pretty worried, but at this stage I can report that he was well enough to make a quick exit from Sydney, and spent the day driving down to stay in isolation at our home, while the rest of us vacate to our beach house. Anyway, I will keep you updated. Thank you for prayers!!

I do remind myself that this blog is supposed to bring you a smile and a laugh, so I proceed to my reflections on Day 5.

I admit have an overactive imagination, but these days I have an eerie feeling that we are living in a movie, scenes flooding to my mind, increase the levels of drama in our daily life.

For example:

  • My kids hurriedly exiting Sydney before the boarders close - "The Sound of Music", when the Von Trapps have to dodge the Nazis and walk over the Alps to enter Switzerland. Well, in our family we do love to sing and I have always aspired to be Maria!
  • Greeting our, possibly contagious, son on the street, him in his car with windows shut, mouthing words of welcome and gesticulating, from afar - "The boy in the Plastic Bubble". Remember that one? Based on a true story.
  • Living in close quarters 24/7, and dodging  physical contact with the outside world- "The Diary of Anne Frank." Well I told you I have an overactive imagination!!

And I am certain, that one day in the future, the crazy events of these times will make a blockbuster movie. And I hope and pray that it will have a happy ending!
